When I own my tesla, I want to make sure it as "future proofed" as possible.. so I figure if I lease for a few years, then buy the next iteration, that more than likely be the case. I suppose tax credits depending what state etc i'm in might influence as well.

One school says that you should lease because it's still a new technology which improves year by year. In three years, you can upgrade to the latest and greatest (longer range, etc.).

If you want to keep the car for more than 5 years, buy it. Although I would assume that the depreciation of a Model 3 won't be as bad if you buy it and then sell it say a year or two later then sell it.
